What are the types of microfibers?

< All Topics

Micro fibers can be categorised into two main types based on the difference in the manufacturing process. These two types are flat weave and split weave.

• Split Weave
Split weave type of microfiber material is manufactured by the fibers being split during the production process.
This increases the surface area and consequently, more water can be absorbed by the material. Thousands of tiny loops are formed when the threads are split, which are perfect for picking up small dirt particles without being abrasive.

• Flat Weave
Flat weave microfiber material is not suitable for cleaning or sportswear purposes. This is mainly because the fabric has half the moisture-absorbing capabilities of the split weave.
