What is the chemical composition of kapok fiber?

The main components of kapok fiber are cellulose (22-45%), lignin (15-22%), hemicellulose and xylan. The primary cell wall in the kapok structure consists of certain waxes along with a high percentage of inorganic substances which integrate with acetyl groups and impart hydrophobic properties to kapok fiber.
