Ginneries across Pakistan as of December 1st have received seed cotton (phutti) equivalent to over 86,31,933 bacles of cotton which shows a decrease of 28.93 percent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 1,21,45,705 bales according to the 7th fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued on figures of cotton arrival up to December 1st, 2015 on Thursday.

A delegation of Nanshan Corporation, Chinese wool textile firm are in Australia this week to work on joint ventures with Australian wool industry to bring new products to market. The Woolmark Company's general manager for product development and commercialisation Jimmy Jackson said that Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) was working with Nanshan to develop new wool textiles.

National Textile Corporation Limited (NTC Ltd) signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Transparency International India (TII) for adopting Integrity Pact (IP). The signing ceremony was attended by Shri K V Chowdary, Central Vigilance Commissioner; Dr. S. K Panda, Secretary, Textiles, and other senior officials from Ministry of Textiles.

In Qianqing, offers for 32s polyester yarn was down US cents 3 a kg in the third week of November.

In China, spun polyester yarn market saw sporadic trades and offers were corrected down to reflect upstream weakness and poor sales.

Yarn makers tended to buy PSF on credit, but suppliers and traders were less willing to accept.

In India, spun polyester prices rose 1.7-2.2 per cent depending on counts and markets.

Polyester yarn 30 knitting yarns prices were up US cents 5 a kg in Ludhiana market while they rolled over in Indore market.

Malaysia’s participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) would not only see rise in exports by 0.54 percent to 0.9 percent in 2027 mainly due to higher manufacturing exports but increase investments by an additional US$136 billion to US$239 billion over 2018-2027. A delegation of big textile industrialists met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday, sought subsidies in power tariff on high-intensity operating machinery in their powerlooms. In the state, the government has given power subsidy to small and medium powerloom operations and handloom sectors, those units which operate on high intensity big machinery to produce yarn have to pay commercial rates between Rs 8.50 to Rs 9 per unit.

Fadnavis said that the big players would have to share social responsibilities and not weigh the textile sector in terms of profit and loss.

A high-level delegation of the Telangana government has been given assurance that cotton procurement would be done by the CCIs all five days in a week from all the farmers who had proper I-cards irrespective of the quantity they bring in to the CCI centres in the state and also they would be handed over payments within 48 hours of the sale.

This assurance was given by Union Minister of Textiles Santosh Kumar Gangwar to the delegation consisting of Deputy Chief Ministers Kadiyam Srihari and Mahmood Ali, minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, TRS MPs and Special Representatives.
