Indian apparel exports likely to reach $20bn by 2016

India's apparel exports supported by the expectations of increase in the global apparel trade and partly due to benefits of depreciated Indian rupee in 2015 are likely to increase to $18 billion and to $20 billion in 2016 as against $16.5 billion in 2014, according to a report from investment information and credit rating agency ICRA.

However depreciated rupee is unlikely to remain as a sustainable advantage in long-term as India's market share in world's trade has not significantly changed despite depreciation of Indian rupee during last three years, it said in a statement.

HempFlax, a Dutch company leader on the hemp processing segment, has invested EUR 5 million in hemp growing and processing in Romania, where its first factory opened in Alba County, in central Romania this October. The investment made by HempFlax is a private investment and supports the hemp cultivation and processing market. The Dutch company buys hemp bales from local farmers, which it processes into fibers.

Viscose spun yarn price rises in Asian market

In China, 40s compact siro-spun yarn in Jiangsu were up US cents 3 a kg in the second week of October while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan were up US cents 2 a kg on the week.

Viscose spun yarn prices gained in China after the holiday, with some varieties offered at higher prices.

Margins for core spun yarn orders in were favorable and prices were stable to firm, with siro spun 30s largely in demand.

Upstream VSF prices and trade volumes climbed after National Day holiday and producers raised offers.

Blended yarn price inches up in India while falls in Pakistan

In India, 30s (65/35) PV yarn prices moderated again by INR1 and by INR3 since mid September, however, in US terms, prices were up US cents 2 a kg due to stronger INR in Indore market in the second week of October. In Ludhiana, PC 30s (52/48) prices were up US cent 1 a kg on the week.

Blended yarn prices have further fallen in India during the week, due to lack of demand and decline in cotton and polyester prices early in the month.

Polyester-cotton yarn prices lost INR2 in the week whereas spun polyester prices were staying unchanged.

Bombay Dyeing cancels deals on sale of textile processing unit with Oasis

Wadia group’s textile firm Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company Ltd (BDMC) cancels its deal signed with Oasis Procon Pvt Ltd for the sale of a textile processing unit at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra for Rs 230 crore in May this year.

As per the term sheet, Delhi-based textiles manufacturer Oasis was required to complete the proposed transaction by July 31. However, it failed to do so.

According to the terms of the deal, the company had decided not to export bed linen or bed linen fabric to the US for five years from the closing date.
