Nylon yarn price falls further in August

Nylon yarn prices declined further during the first week of August as operating cost pressure reduced on lower prices of caprolactum and nylon chips. However, demand was also weak as downstream converters could hardly find fresh order intakes amid dull season, restraining demand for nylon yarn and in turn weighing down yarn prices.

New textile policy proposes Rs 80,000 crore investment in five years in the sector which will be developed around the concept, 'fabric to fashion'. Currently, the clothing industry from cotton to fabric to ready-to-wear cloths is scattered across the country. The new policy aims to change this situation, by processing its cotton completely here and the final ready-to-use cloths will be produced in the state only.

Wool price surge beats expectations after a poor performance in previous weeks

In the second week of August, the Australian wool markets got off to a good start after the disappointing finish prior to the mid‐year recess. The EMI made a solid gain of Aus cents 17 a kg. A weaker Aus$, saw the EMI fall US cent 1 in US$ terms.

In Melbourne, sales opened well with fine wools lifted and medium to broad micron merino fleece wools picking up. Prices generally improved, with most categories closing on their highs. Crossbreds also made good gains while oddments were dearer.

At the inauguration of the fourth edition of the buyer-seller meet-cum-powerloom product mela ‘TEXPO – 2015,’ jointly organized by the Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) and the Regional Office of the Textile Commissioner under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Egypt has had a long history of textile manufacturing and they have one of the best cottons in the world but since the 2011 revolution, Egyptian cotton’s star has faded as cash subsidies from the government and output of premium cotton have shrunk, according to Mohamed Kassem, Chairman of the Ready Made Garment Export Council, a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Trade and Industry and some of Egypt’s most prominent clothing exporters.

Spun yarn price sees continuous fall in Asian markets

Cotton yarn markets saw low transactions in the first week of August for domestic goods in China while imported yarn took a larger share, particularly of Vietnam-origin. In India, although cotton prices did not move much, cotton yarn prices have lost more than 2 per cent, having plunged 8-9 per cent in past three weeks. In Pakistan, too cotton yarn prices declined continuously, but were pushed by falling cotton prices.
