The Karachi cotton Association raised its spot rates by Rs50, to Rs6,700 per maund on Fri¬day.

Nevertheless, trading was marked by a single big deal of 5,801 bales which was quo¬ted at a high price of Rs7,200 per maund (around 37 kilograms).

American cotton has made up about 40 percent of Vietnam’s cotton imports over the last three years as Vietnam’s demand for raw cotton has risen steadily for six years, with August to January (Marketing YTD) imports at their highest levels ever.
