The 14th edition of the Knit -Tech trade fair one of Asia’s largest machinery exhibition organized by Hi-Tech International Trade Fair India Private Limited kicked off with a colourful start yesterday, 11 February on Friday displaying a wide range of latest machinery in apparel production and technology solutions.

Tadesse Haile, the State Minister (Exports, Investment) in Economic Section at Ethiopian Prime Minister’s Office, inaugurated the event in the presence of Tirupur Exporters Association president Raja M. Shanmugam and representatives of various other textile associations.

Asian PTA prices were up US$11 a ton CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia marker in the last week of January. The CFR India marker was also up US$11 a ton, based on tradable indications heard.

Purified terephthalic acid spot market activity in Asia was limited, with Chinese players mostly out for the Lunar New Year holiday, but price gains may continue into February. Meanwhile, prices rose on surging feedstock costs in India while Southeast marker tracked the Indian market up.

Prices on the New York cotton market remain balanced between a seasonal high of 75 and 77.21 US cents per lb. Similarly, Indian cotton prices have risen to Rs42,000 per candy (356 kilograms) while Chinese cotton prices were on the higher side.
