Union Textile Minister, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, joined the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) designed by NITRA at Ajrakhpur, Bhuj (Gujarat) on 18th March 2017.

The 150 KLD CETP project has been assigned to NITRA for implementation by Ministry of Textiles through Handicrafts Mega Cluster Mission (HMCM). NITRA designed a modern treatment scheme integrated with water reclamation for the CETP.

Asian acrylonitrile prices were stable in the first week of April. In China, offers for offshore cargoes were flat while Indian ACN prices rolled over on the week.

Acrylonitrile prices in Asian markets were assessed stable week on week amid thin trade and standoff between buy and sell sides. Meanwhile, supply is expected to increase with China's Jilin Petrochemical planning to restart its 120,000 ton/year No. 3 line acrylonitrile plant in mid-April from an ongoing maintenance.

Hanwha Total as part of its effort to beef up its market presence in the core business areas, including ethylene and propylene plans to make an investment of 500 billion won to ramp up petrochemical production capacities.

Hanwha Total is a joint venture owned 50:50 by Hanwha General Chemical and Total of France.

Hanwha Total held a board of directors meeting on April 12 and voted to ramp up the facilities such as the naphtha cracking center side gas cracker and the gas turbine generator at its Daesan plant. This would require an investment of 539.5 billion won.
