Turkish denim manufacturer, Isko, has announced the creation of a “totally sustainable” fabric series.
The ISKO 2023 Collection Vol 1 is said to bring together the brand’s responsible innovation approach to sustainable production and cutting-edge technology to fulfill market demands by offering fashion, comfort, adaptability, and responsibility in each of its textiles.
The entire line is “designed for nature” with Isko’s freshly developed R-TWO50+ technology, which, according to the company, produces high-quality denim that is less detrimental to the environment.
R-TWO50+ fabrics include a minimum of 50% pre-and post-consumer recycled content and are fully certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). According to Isko, this results in less use of natural resources and a 45% and 65% reduction in carbon and water footprints, respectively.
Hemp has also been included in the collection as a more sustainable alternative to cotton. Hemp uses a lot less water, doesn’t need pesticides, and can grow in nearly any type of soil. The fiber is also believed to have a softer feel thanks to new spinning procedures.
Color groups are also highlighted in the collection. Isko Black offers a variety of black hues with varying elasticity and aspect possibilities, while Isko EFD, or ‘Eco For Dye,’ is a sustainable method to ecru fabric production. This method is believed to shorten the manufacturing process and save water. The outcome is an ecru-colored base that may be dyed to any color or used as-is for a natural effect.
