Z Supply
Z Supply has launched its first denim collection, marking a major step in the California-based women’s lifestyle brand’s expansion beyond its knitwear roots. The launch reflects the company’s long-term strategy of becoming a complete wardrobe brand by offering products across multiple apparel categories.
According to Mandy Fry, president and co-owner of Z Supply, the move into denim has been part of the company’s vision for several years. After joining the company in 2019, Fry worked with co-founders John Zhao and Greg Garrett to expand the brand beyond knitwear and create a lifestyle label that could offer clothing for different occasions and everyday wear.
That strategy began with the launch of Z Supply’s loungewear collection in February 2020, just before demand for comfortable clothing surged during the pandemic. The strong response encouraged the company to continue expanding into new categories, including dresses, woven sweaters, jackets, graphic T-shirts, activewear and eyewear.
The debut collection is built around three fabric options designed to match different style preferences. These include a 13-ounce compact stretch denim for everyday comfort, a 12.4-ounce vintage comfort stretch fabric made from 99.5 percent cotton and 0.5 percent spandex, and a 100 percent cotton modern vintage denim with an authentic texture and washed finish.
