GFA, ReHubs launch blueprint to scale textile recycling

Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), in partnership with ReHubs, has launched the 2030 Circularity Blueprint to strengthen textile-to-textile recycling and support the transition toward a circular economy. The initiative aims to address the long-standing fragmentation in the textile recycling sector and improve the recycling rate for discarded garments.

The 2030 Circularity Blueprint outlines a structured plan built around eight connected areas of intervention. These measures are designed to address major systemic challenges within the textile industry through coordinated action.

The strategy includes creating a shared framework for circular and sustainable materials, developing a Textile Waste Intelligence Platform, and introducing a Demand Signal Initiative that encourages long-term purchasing commitments for recycled materials.

Within the value chain, the Blueprint focuses on integrating circularity at the product design stage through an approach called “Designing for the Loop.” It also aims to improve textile collection systems, reduce gaps in sorting infrastructure, and create stronger demand certainty for sorting companies to encourage investment.

The organisations are also seeking funding and new partnerships to support the implementation of the Blueprint. They believe shared responsibility across the industry will be essential for achieving meaningful progress.
