Bangladesh, which is among the top garment manufacturing and exporting countries globally has to heavily bank on India, especially Gujarat, for cotton and yarn for its garment industry. The neighbouring country proposes to set up a textile park in the state of Gujarat.

Bangladesh has zeroed in on Kadi near Ahmedabad for the project which involves an initial investment of Rs 240-300 crore. To begin with, the park will have spinning units with cumulative capacity of 1 lakh spindles. Bangladesh has sought around 100 acres of land from the state government for the project.

Bangladesh proposes to set up a textile park in Gujarat as it is largely dependent on Indian cotton for its garment industry.

Bangladesh is focusing on Kadi, also known as the 'Cotton City' of India near Ahmedabad for the project and the initial investment is estimated to be Rs 240-300 crore.

The textile park will have spinning units aiming to have cumulative capacity of 1 lakh spindles. Bangladesh has sought around 100 acres of land from the state government for the project.

Viscose yarn price stablises in Asia

In China, 30s siro-spun yarn in Jiangsu were unchanged in the last week of September while compact & siro-spun 40s yarn were up US cent 1 a kg on the week in Jiangsu.

Spun viscose yarn prices were stable to higher in China this week amid steady liquidity.

Offers held flat amid favorable sales, while selling ideas were reportedly stable for 100 per cent viscose yarn although transactions were mute in a holiday-shortened week and due to steady rise of VSF prices in recent weeks.

Blended yarn price moderates in Asia

In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices were up US cent 1 a kg and 21s were also up US cent 1 a kg in the last week of September.

Offers for polyester-cotton yarn held flat amid favorable sales in China, while selling ideas were reported stable for polyester-viscose yarn amid mute transactions.

Downstream, fabric markets sustained their stable movements, and trading activities are expected to remain steady in coming weeks.
