Spinning mills opt for solar rooftops panel in their units

As many as 50 spinning mills in the region are increasingly opting and planning to install solar rooftop panels in their units with the cost of solar photovoltaic units and accessories coming down significantly. The solar rooftop panels would have the capacity to generate 1-mw of power in each of their units.

These mills would be investing about Rs. 275 crore cumulatively for their solar rooftop projects. In fact, five mills have already installed solar rooftop panels in their units.

Aditya Birla Group, an Indian multinational conglomerate a dominant player in viscose staple fibre who besides Indo Bharat Rayon has four other companies in Indonesia, namely PT Elegant Textile Industry, PT Indo Liberty Textiles, PT Sunrise Bumi Textiles and PT Indo Raya Kimia. The Aditya Birla group has invested $60 million in Indonesia to expand its rayon plant in Purwakarta, West Java.

Sekhani group, Ahmedabad based four decade old textile group involved in processing, dyeing, printing, embroidery and finishing of plain and pattern woven fabrics for apparel and furnishing sector announced on Monday announced their plan to invest Rs 500 crore in setting up a new plant manufacturing sanitary napkins at Sanand in a phased process.

As part of their expansion plans, the company has acquired 1 lakh sq mt of land in Sanand GIDC and will be investing Rs 150 crore in the first phase of setting up of the plant.

Korea, Pakistan to sign FTA to enhance investment and trade volume

Pakistan and Korea, having bilateral trade and diplomatic relations for over three decades, are very much ambitious to sign Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to enhance investment and trade volume.

However it will take years to attain the objective, as both the countries have to examine minutely the FTA proposal exchanged by them July this year. Pakistan’s Commerce Minister had visited Republic of Korea in July to discuss bilateral trade and possibilities of FTA.

The Indian Embassy in Oman is organising textile exhibition Vastram:Splendid World of Indian Textile in cooperation with the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) where thirty seven traditional textiles from India will be showcase at the Oman Avenues Mall from Thursday.

H E Indra Mani Pandey, the Ambassador of India to Oman addressing a press conference on Sunday said that the ten-day event is part of the celebrations to mark the 60th year of India-Oman diplomatic relations.

Nylon yarn price rolls over in China

In the last week of September, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices were flat in China while FDY40D were stable. Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices rolled over while DTY 30D/10F remained unchanged.

Monofilament 30D was pegged at US$2.67-2.90 a kg and 1.5D staple fiber were at US$2.43-2.52 a kg.

Nylon filament yarn markets were firm on the back of depleted margins and range-bound raw material prices amid steady crude oil and benzene. Despite downstream purchase, there were little call for higher prices on the back of snug liquidity.

Caprolactum price goes down in China

In China, liquid goods offer was down US$5 a ton in the last week of September. Solid goods were down US$75 a ton.

Asian markers, the SE and FE were stable while trading values for East European goods were at US$1,300-1,350 a ton.

Sinopec nominated October contract price down a ton US$40 from September settlement for liquid goods while DSM Nanjing announced nomination for October at a rollover from the settlement for September for solid goods.
