In China, prices of 40s compact sirospun yarn in Jiangsu were down US cent 1 a kg in the third week of April while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan fell in yuan terms. Offers for ring-spun 30s yarn were down US cent 1 a kg at the upper end.
Spun viscose yarn prices were weak in China, seeing falls in various specs including ring‐spun, rotor‐spun, siro‐spun, compact & siro‐spun and vortex‐spun yarns. Liquidity was dissatisfactory as well.

In March 2016, all types of filament yarns export aggregated 34.7 million kg, declined 10.5 per cent YoY while value was down 17.1 per cent to US$54.3 million. Filament yarns include polyester, nylon, polypropylene and viscose filament yarns and were exported to 77 countries during the month.
The China National Development and Reform Commission or NRCD a few days ago announced that they would begin selling a portion of China’s estimated 58 million bales of reserve stocks beginning in early May.
According to the NRCD, 2 million metric tons (the equivalent of about 9 million 480-pound bales) will be offered for sale in 2016. Only a set amount can be purchased daily, apparently to avoid giving the appearance China is dumping cotton on the market.

ZimTrade will be facilitating the participation of companies in the fair to take place in Cape Town, South Africa from 7-9 June 2016.

US cotton has been favored by Vietnamese textile enterprises and used in a large scale.
