Cotton market witnessed demand of fine grade lint

During the trading session at cotton market, buyers purchased fine grade lint on slightly higher price at around Rs5,000 per maund to Rs5,525 per maud. Around 300 bales changed hands, said floork brokers.

The Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) spot rate remained firm at Rs 5,650 per maund.

According to a senior trader, Ghulam Rabbani, buyers and sellers remained entangled in price war on second grade stuff and buyers bought grade at around Rs 5,375 per maund to cater their immediate need.

The new SATEC textile factory under construction in Dondo, Cambambe municipality, northern Cuanza Norte province, as part of a public-private partnership around USD400 million have been spent on the construction works.

The chairman of the board of directors of the Angolan business group "Mainhia Yeto", in charge of the work, Matos Cardoso released the information on Friday that the aforementioned amount was used in the construction of infrastructure and purchase of equipment for the project, expected to start next July.

In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices rolled over in the third week of April while FDY40D gained US cents 8 a kg at the upper end.

Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were flat on the week while 30D/10F prices were stable.

Monofilament 30D prices rolled over while 1.5D staple fiber partially regained US cents 3 a kg.

Caprolactum price gains in China

Asian markers, the SE and FE markers gained US$20 a ton in the third week of April. In China, liquid good offers rolled over while solid goods offers were stable on the week.

Sinopec announced April settlement which was down US$15 a ton from its nomination for liquid goods.

Caprolactum prices moved sideways that week on decent demand and recovering feedstock. In China, liquid good offers in spot market were quoted at a roll over while mainstream values for solid goods were unchanged from last week. However, offers were sparse in SE and NE Asian markets but spot went up on the week.

Blended yarn price inches up in India

Blended yarn prices rolled over in China and Pakistan in the third week of April while they inched up in India on demand supply fundamentals.

In India, PV yarn prices inched up on recent upward revision in VSF and PSF prices while polyester-cotton rose on firmness in cotton prices. 30s (65/35) PV warp yarn prices gained another INR1 a kg (up US cents 2) in the third week of April in Indore market. In Ludhiana, PC 30s (52/48) prices increased INR2 a kg (up US cents 3).
