ASF price rolls over in Asian markets

In China, medium-length staple fiber and cotton-type staple prices were steady in the second week of April. Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow prices were at US$1.55-1.65 a kg while offers for regular products were at US$1.50-1.55 a kg, with negotiable firm deals. Sinopec issued list prices flat for April.

Acrylic staple fibre prices continued to remain sticky despite two consecutive weeks of rise in upstream acrylonitrile prices. It is apparent that ASF markets lack substantial supports. In China, trading atmosphere was modest, seeing producers liquidate volumes at prevailing prices.
