Khalifa bin Zajed al Nahjan foundation (KBZF) who’s pioneering initiatives is for welfare and its strategies are focused on health and education on domestic, regional and global scales. It is now focusing to invest 9 million euro ($10million) in setting up textile plant in Serbia’s municipality of Raska, for which cornerstone has been laid, the government said on Thursday.

The factory will cover an area of 11,500 sq m. It will house storage capacities, an administrative area and a production plant sprawling over some 6,200 sq m.

Yi Cui, an associate professor of materials science and engineering and of photon science at Stanford said that this clothing can cool the person which in turn will help save energy used to operate air conditioners or fan.

Polyester yarn price dips amid lackluster demand

In Shengze, offers for 32s polyester yarn fell US cents 2 a kg in the third week of August, and 45s were stable during the week. In Qiangqing, offers for 32s weaving were down US cents 2 a kg on the week.

Spun polyester yarn offers were lowered somewhat in China, but demand was lackluster as a whole. Offers for polyester yarns in Shengze were stable to weak amid flat transaction, with some sporadic numbers slightly lower. Meanwhile, PSF prices were stable that week. Spun yarn producers replenished inventories before shutdown due to the G20 summit.

PTA price inches up on firm upstream market

Asian PTA markers inched up US$3 a ton CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia in the third week of August. In China, offers for nearby-month goods picked up slightly to US$610-615 a ton, with limited deals within this range.

Purified terephthalic acid markets were almost calm early in the week and saw prices inching up on last two days in line with firmer upstream markets. Demand from India reportedly slowed down.

Ease in rates seen with increase in arrival of Phutti

After improvement in arrivals of seed cotton, ease in rates was witnessed at cotton market on Wednesday while the official spot rate remained lower by Rs 100 to Rs 6,550, dealers said.

In Sindh, seed cotton prices also came under pressure at Rs 3200-3450 and in Punjab rates of Phutti, also slipped at Rs 2800-3300, as per 40 kg.
In ready business, around 18000 bales of cotton changed hands between Rs 6600 and Rs 6925, dealer said.
