VAUDE’s initiative towards a sustainable supply chain

Europe’s most sustainable outdoor supplier for mountain bike sports, VAUDE is setting its aim to set a new model for a more sustainable supply chain and reducing CO2 emission. They are shifting to alternatives like recycled materials made from PET bottles. For winter collection 2021, the outdoor outfitter will use recycled materials for its windproof softshells and from next winters they are aiming to switch for biobased, renewable raw resources.

Recently there is huge demand growing for sustainable materials in the textile industry. This brand’s goal is quite been successful with the production of 30 windproof models which are made from recycled softshell fabrics and many products with a recycled content of more than 75 percent. Through their logo “Recycled Inside” is very well able to portray their brand values and objectives; is making a huge contribution to our environment. By recycling PET bottles, petroleum extraction and GHG emissions will reduce.

With exceptional features, the new VAUDE softshell is quite impressive with high functionality for a wide range of outdoor activities and also promoting resource conservation at the same time. Windproof and water repellent without harmful fluorocarbons (PFC), they are very comfortable and breathable and offer protection from adverse conditions on the trail, road, or mountain.

VAUDE sets a sheer example that sustainability can be functional too. The label and seal “ Grüner Knopf” is evidence of the quality of the materials that the brand is using and also appropriately targets the conscious customers for its eco-friendly products.
