Telangana govt plans to establish textile in Warangal and Sircilla

A review meeting was held by Telangana Chief minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao, with special chief secretary Pradeep Chandra and other high-level officials on the industrial sector at Secretariat on Friday. The discussion focused on the modalities of industrial policy in the state and establishing textile parks and different type of industries.

At the meeting, they also discussed on establishing textile park in Warangal and Sircilla. Lands belonging to Ajamzahi mills would be utilised for development of textile park, and if necessary more land may be acquired, the chief minister suggested.

According to an official press release, the chief minister has decided to hold a broad-based meeting shortly to finalise the industrial policy. He intends to invite industrialists and representatives of the CII and Ficci for a discussion to formulate the policy.

Rao suggested to the officials that there had to be a single window clearance system through which industrial clearances on various aspects should be made easy and accordingly rules and regulations were to be framed. He also said a special chasing cell should be established in the chief minister’s office.

Also, lands which were earlier acquired for establishing industries should be taken over in case there was no industry established in them so far.

The chief minister has also instructed officials to study on the aspects of the type of industries that could be established in the state in the coming four to five years. For the establishment of industries they would identity and put to use lands, which were not useful to agriculture.
