Teijin Frontier launches eco-friendly sheet insulation range

Teijin Frontier has introduced a new series of sheet insulation materials under the brand name Thermofront, designed to deliver high thermal performance. The range is primarily made from recycled polyester.

The collection includes three sub-brands, Thermofront OA, SL, and BE, each offering unique benefits such as enhanced bulk, lightweight comfort, and improved moisture control.

Thermofront OA is developed using Octair, a hollow staple fibre with an eight-fin cross-section, which provides excellent loft and lightness. When combined with Ecopet staple fibres and optimally layered sheeting, it maintains consistent thermal insulation over time. This variant is made entirely from recycled polyester.

Thermofront SL combines Solotex, a polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) fibre with a spring-like structure, and Aerocapsule γ Eco, a three-hole hollow polyester fibre with a spiral shape. This mix offers a soft feel, good shape retention, and superior warmth, ensuring a comfortable wearing experience.

Thermofront BE uses a nonwoven fabric made from Bemberg, a regenerated cellulose cupro fibre developed by Asahi Kasei, along with Aerocapsule γ Eco. The natural moisture absorption and release properties of Bemberg help control humidity and reduce discomfort from perspiration. The combination of recycled polyester and regenerated cellulose used in this material reaches 97%.
