Swedish fashion brand Lindex has partnered with BASF to bring loopamid recycled polyamide 6 into the lingerie category. Loopamid is produced entirely from post-industrial and post-consumer waste. BASF’s technology makes it possible to recycle polyamide materials without losing its performance.

For Lindex, the introduction of loopamid is part of its ongoing efforts to increase the use of recycled materials and lower its dependence on virgin resources. The brand has already been working on textile-to-textile recycled cellulosic fibres and is now expanding those efforts into polyamide materials.

Anna-Karin Dahlberg, chief sustainability officer at Lindex, said the brand has both the responsibility and the opportunity to bring change to the lingerie sector. She explained that polyamide is an important material category for Lindex, and the company’s scale allows it to create meaningful impact. She also noted that developments like this require strong partnerships and new technologies across the supply chain, with BASF playing an important role in making the project possible.

The first lingerie products made using loopamid are expected to launch in selected Lindex collections at the beginning of 2027. The company has also set a target to ensure that 100 percent of its raw materials are either recycled or sustainably sourced by the end of 2026.
