Circ, Shenghong to scale textile-to-textile recycled polyester yarn

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2026-09-02 14:01:26 – China

Textile recycling company Circ has partnered with Chinese fibre manufacturer Shenghong Chemical Fiber New Material (Shenghong) to expand the commercial production of polyester filament yarn made from recycled textile waste.

Under the agreement, Shenghong will purchase polyester chips recovered from discarded textiles using Circ’s recycling technology. The company will then convert the recycled material into filament yarn at commercial scale for brands, textile mills and other supply-chain partners seeking greater access to circular polyester.

A key objective is to demonstrate that Circ’s recycled polyester can be successfully used in filament-yarn applications and to develop a repeatable manufacturing model that can be expanded as demand grows. The collaboration is ultimately aimed at reducing dependence on virgin fossil-based polyester while increasing the availability of recycled polyester derived specifically from used textiles.
