Ezzigroup produces compostable medical grade face mask

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2021-11-30 11:48:35 – Canada

Ezzigroup, a Toronto-based PPE producer and distributor, has produced the country's first compostable medical grade face mask manufactured in Canada.

The mask is ASTM F-2100 certified and Health Canada licenced, and it will be available for distribution in December 2021 under the EzziMed brand in Canada and the United States.

Previcare, a firm focused on delivering industry-quality hand sanitizer, hard surface disinfectants, cleansers, and PPE solutions to its customers globally is distributing the mask.

Ezzigroup has also inked a distribution deal with Medtheos, a wholesale distributor of healthcare products licenced with the US Food and Drug Administration, to bring EzziMed, ASTM level 3 certified compostable face masks to the US market.

Ray Rasouli, Ezzigroup CEO, said that their compostable face masks are ASTM F-2100 approved for surgical and medical use, with a filtering ability of over 99% Plus, and are truly a game changer in keeping millions of synthetic, throwaway face masks out of our landfills every day. Ezzigroup's substrate and nonwoven materials are constructed of PLA or cotton and soft wood pulp, making them compostable. When compared to conventional synthetic masks made of microplastics, these compostable masks will have no negative impact on the environment and will compost in less than 90 days under the soil, improving the soil quality of any landfill.
