ECA launches new digital map listing Australia’s ethical fashion shops

Long-running fashion not-for-profit Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) has launched a new online map for the people of Australia who have been looking to keep their wardrobe choices as ethical as possible. This new online map pinpoints all the Aussie stores featuring ECA-accredited brands on their racks.

Over 300 accredited ethical retail destinations have been currently mapped out in this new digital tool which allows the shoppers to easily hunt down ethically conscious fashion with just a few clicks on their smartphone or another device.

In order to gain the ECA accreditation, a business must be able to prove that in its manufacturing operations all workers involved are being paid properly, they must be working in safe conditions, and should be receiving all the necessary legal entitlements. These audits are conducted by ECA who looks deep into the whole manufacturing process, from design to dispatch.

Some of the ethical businesses listed on the map include popular jeans label Nobody Denim, high-end designer favorite Manning Cartel, 53-year-old brand Cue, etc. With 120 stores mapped in a single step, Victoria alone consists of the highest conscious fashion brands including Vege Threads, Remuse Designs, The Social Studio, and the newly opened Clothing the Gap store.

The new map is launched as more and more Aussies are choosing to hunt down ethical producers during shopping. As per a recent ECA survey, 70% of local textile, clothing, and footwear manufacturers reported their customers have asked questions about the labor rights of their workers than ever before. ECA has also mentioned a comprehensive directory listing all of its ethically accredited fashion businesses on their website.
