Denimsandjeans to host its first show in India this year

Denimsanjdeans.com to host its first show in India this year in September, attracted by the booming denim market. The show will be organized in the Indian city of Bangalore where key retailers, buying houses and factories from India as well as from Europe, South East Asia and the USA are expected to visit the show.

Sandeep Agarwal, Founder, Denimsandjeans.com said that it gives them great pleasure to bring their show to India after successfully running it in Bangladesh and Vietnam. The Indian denim industry is at an inflexion point, where they will see it take off strongly and attain depth and breadth.

While they are already the second largest consumer of jeans today, they will see the market maturing substantially in terms of usage across regions and demographics. Their show aims to bring together the major stakeholders in the supply chain to come together and help in this process.

Denim has been one of the main flourishing textile segments in India in the past decade. Where the capacity of Indian mills to produce denim fabrics was only about 300 million meters in 2005, it has risen over 300 percent, reaching about 1.3 billion metres today; making India stand second only to China globally.

The denimandjeans show will be the first-of-its-kind in India, which will bring some of the most reputed denim mills including top local and international garment manufacturers together on one platform and provide a great opportunity to source denim fabrics and apparels.

The two-day international trade show will be held on September 25-26 at the Lalit Ashok in Bangalore city, India.
