Armedangels launches 100% Tencel windbreaker

Armedangels is introducing a unisex windbreaker aimed at reducing the use of synthetic materials in outerwear. The product is described as the first performance piece made entirely from Tencel Lyocell Ripstop, offering a new approach to functional clothing without relying on petroleum-based materials.

The German brand presents this development as a “proof of concept” that shows it is possible to create protective outerwear without using synthetic fabrics, membranes, or PFAS-related chemicals. It highlights the potential of natural materials to meet performance needs.

The windbreaker was created through collaboration between Armedangels and several international partners. The brand sees this project as an important first step into a new category of everyday performance wear and as a base for future development of synthetic-free outerwear.

To achieve strong performance using natural materials, the team replaced traditional synthetic membranes with advanced textile engineering methods. The fabric is made using ultra-fine, high-strength Tencel Lyocell microfibres woven into a very dense ripstop structure, giving it durability and protection.

Armedangels stated that the windbreaker represents progress in responsible performance wear by combining functionality with reduced dependence on synthetic materials.
