AEC, A&P Technology partner to advance braided composite for aerospace

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2026-07-28 13:53:31 – USA

Albany Engineered Composites, based in Rochester, New Hampshire, has partnered with A&P Technology, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, to develop advanced braided composite manufacturing solutions for both current and future aerospace and defense applications.

The partnership combines A&P Technology’s expertise in composite braiding with Albany Engineered Composites’ advanced resin transfer moulding (RTM) technology. By bringing these two manufacturing methods together, the companies aim to speed up the production of lightweight, highly integrated composite structures while improving manufacturing efficiency.

According to Chris Stone, President of Albany Engineered Composites, future aerospace platforms require manufacturing technologies that can improve performance, lower production costs, and support higher production volumes. He said the collaboration is intended to help customers move more quickly from innovative textile designs to reliable, large-scale composite manufacturing.

As part of the collaboration, the two companies will work together on research, technology development, manufacturing process improvement, and commercialization. Their efforts will focus on creating purpose-built braided composite structures for current and next-generation aircraft engines, aerospace blades and structural components, as well as solid rocket motor nozzles.
