REC produces recycled nylon pellets textile waste

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2026-06-16 17:15:28 – France

French deeptech company REC has achieved a significant milestone in textile recycling by producing its first recycled polyamide (rPA) pellets from end-of-life tights, stockings, and other polyamide-rich textile waste, marking a major step toward establishing a circular nylon value chain in Europe.

With the launch of its operational laboratory, REC has transitioned from experimental production to manufacturing several dozen kilograms of recycled polyamide pellets each month. The achievement lays the foundation for the company's planned industrial-scale manufacturing facility, where production capacity is expected to expand significantly.

REC's proprietary recycling technology recovers high-quality recycled polyamide from complex textile blends. The newly produced French-made recycled pellets are now ready for reintegration into industrial manufacturing processes, providing manufacturers with an alternative to virgin petrochemical-based nylon.

By creating a fully integrated European recycled nylon value chain, REC aims to transform thousands of tonnes of discarded textile waste into valuable industrial raw materials, supporting both circular economy objectives and regional manufacturing.
