Artistic Milliners (AM), the Karachi-based denim manufacturer, has introduced a range of innovations in fiber technologies for its Fall/Winter 2027–28 collection. The company said these developments represent major technological advancements aimed at improving both product performance and sustainability.

One of the key highlights is AM’s partnership with Yulex, a producer of 100% bio-based natural rubber textile fibers. Through this collaboration, the company is introducing a new stretch denim platform that uses Yulastic, Yulex’s plant-based alternative to conventional elastane. The innovation is designed to reduce the denim industry’s dependence on petroleum-based stretch materials.

For denim applications, the natural rubber filaments serve as a high-performance replacement for traditional synthetic stretch fibers. According to Artistic Milliners, the new material offers excellent durability, flexibility, and stretch performance while significantly improving the product’s sustainability profile and reducing the use of fossil fuel-based raw materials.

The company stated that replacing conventional petroleum-based elastomers with a plant-based alternative marks an important step toward more responsible performance denim. The natural rubber fibers are designed to provide long-lasting durability, strong recovery, and high elasticity while maintaining resistance to oils and sweat. AM believes the innovation demonstrates that premium stretch performance can be achieved without relying on traditional synthetic materials.
