Loftex, Chinese Textile Company acquires warehouse in New Jersey

Loftex Logistics LLC, a leading Chinese textile company, which manufacturers and exports home textile goods has acquired a new 53,000-square-foot warehouse in New Jersey to use as its first fulfillment and distribution center in the US. The Company paid approximately $12.5 million for the warehouse in Carlstadt, about 15 miles west of New York.

The sale was announced at the end of February and the newly constructed warehouse was owned by Sitex Group, a New York private equity firm that specializes in real estate investment.

Nylon yarn price rolls over on stable demand in China

In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices rolled over at US$2.14-2.22 a kg in the last week of February while FDY40D were at US$2.30-2.53 a kg.

Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices fell US cents 2 a kg while 30D/10F prices were stable on the week.

Monofilament 30D prices rolled over at US$2.37-2.60 a kg while 1.5D staple fiber was stable at US$1.99-2.14 a kg.

Nylon filament yarn prices were range bound on cost pressure on recovering caprolactum and firmer semi-dull nylon chips, but any hike met with resistance due to low offtake. Nylon-6 FDY saw improved demand and prices held stable.

Caprolactum price continues upward trend in China

In China, liquid good offers rose to US$1,460-1,505 a ton in the last week of February while solid goods offers were stable at US$1,505-1,535 a ton. Asian markers, the SE and FE markers further gained US$20 a ton.

Both, Sinopec and DSM Nanjing announced their February contract settlements at US$1,470 a ton and US$1,475 a ton respectively, for liquid goods.

High end imported goods for February was not been settled, with discussions at US$1,150-1,180 a ton.

By consuming 2.2 million tons of cotton, Pakistan would be exporting around $13 billion of cotton products whereas with the same quantity of combined cotton production Bangladesh and Vietnam would generate exports of $54 billion, according to a recent cotton update by the International Cotton Advisory Committee.
