Export potential for synthetic yarn in the Indian industry is seeing a sharp decline again with the dwindling Chinese economy. The recent market crash in China has a lot to do with bleak outlook of domestic production in almost all sectors including textiles. Units in China have been cutting down production due to decline in the world's buying capacity for textiles. This has resulted in synthetic yarn exports, especially texturised yarn falling steeply, said Jayesh Pathak of Bombay Yarn Traders Association.

Pakistan is implausible to achieve cotton target of 15.49 million bales set for the current season (2015-16) against the revised target of 13.48 million bales for (2014-15 from 7.7 million acres as it has missed about ten percent of cotton sowing target due to unprecedented rains during the early cotton sowing season, official sources revealed.

The recent two day elementary nonwoven training programme organized by INDA, the association of the nonwoven fabrics industry and coordinated by Tecnitex Nonwovens was held on 6-7 July at the Orchid Hotel, Mumbai, India. A three day international textiles, weaving machinery and accessories expo to be held from July 10 at Texvalley in nearby Chitode. The event is organized by Weave Tex Tech, a consultative agency in the industry.

Weave Tex Tech Chairman M A Rayappan said that the expo would have 60 stalls featuring latest machineries with modern technologies which would be placed for view and sales.

Sumeet Industries, manufacturers and exporters of polyester yarn, polypropelene yarn and woven fabrics, announced that the company has successfully commissioned 3,500 TPA carpet yarn manufacturing plant and has also started commercial production from the new carpet yarn unit.
The company said that this is a valued added product and will add an additional revenue of Rs. 750 million in the top line of the company.
