In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices were up US cents 3 a kg in the second week of July while FDY40D were flat on the week. Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were up US cents 4 a kg while 30D/10F rolled over during the week. Nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices were unchanged while monofilament 30D prices were stable during the week.

Vietnam’s garment and textile export value in the first half of this year reached US$12.6 billion, an increase of 4.72 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 41 percent of the sector’s annual target for 2016. But the growth in the industry’s export value was largely attributed to foreign direct investment (FDI) firms, while local firms had difficulties getting new export contracts, especially orders of shirts, trousers and jackets, said the Việtnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS).

An Indian business delegation is expected to visit the North African country, Morocco next week to boost further trade exchanges between the two countries and explore the possibilities of partnership projects in various sectors such as textile, infrastructure, energy, information technology, construction, agriculture, chemicals and fertilizers, mining, and automotive.
This visit comes one month after Morocco and India set up a joint trade and industry chamber to give a new impetus to cooperation between the two countries.
Blended yarn price moves up on surging raw material cost
In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices moved up US cents 5 a kg in the second week of July while 45s PC combed yarn prices inched up on the week. 32s PV (65/35) were up US cents 6 during the week. Blended yarn prices took a sharp upturn in China due to surging raw material cost. Both cotton and viscose price have been on the steep uptrend due to supply shortage, mainly of the latter.

Viscose yarn becomes costly in China, India
In Jiangsu, 40s compact sirospun yarn prices jumped US cents 11 a kg in the second week of July while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan was up US cents 12 a kg on the week. Offers for ring-spun 40s yarn were up US cents 11 a kg during the week.
Viscose spun yarn markets saw liquidity improving, along with the terminal fabric demand. Prices tracked VSF movement, which have been mounting since the past couple of weeks. In Xiaoshan, offers for ring‐spun, rotor‐spun and siro‐spun yarn ascended amid tolerable inventory.

Pakistan apparel industry has been facing severe shortage of cotton yarn at a time when international buyers are planning to place orders for Christmas. The local garment industry due to price factor and especially owing to artificial shortage of cotton yarn created by the spinning as well as ginning industry, which are holding stock in the hope of further price hike, are not able to entertain the international buyers, said Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (Prgmea) chief coordinator Ijaz Khokhar.

Brisk demand for fine and second grade lint kept trading activity moderate at cotton market on Saturday. Moreover buyers made forward deals in all grades that kept market in firm frame past week, said traders at Karachi Cotton Association (KCA).
The KCA kept the spot rate at Rs 6,500 per maund while fine grade fetched better prices at around Rs 6,600 per maund on higher demand.
