DHG invest in six PIKE digital textile printers from SPGPrints

Dongheng Group,(DHG) in Changzhou, Jiangsu province (near Shanghai), China specializing in the production of dyed and finished textile products supplying to the fashion industry has invested in six colour PIKE digital textile printers from SPGPrints. The PIKE printer is scheduled for installation in Jiangsu in Q4 2016 with production beginning in Q1 2017.

DHG wanted to expand its digital capabilities for a variety of reasons. First, it needed to offer greater service flexibility, meeting customer demands for both high-quality, short runs and faster lead-times.

Cotton rates soar due to short supply and sporadic rains

Sharp rise in rates seen on the cotton market on Tuesday, due to short supply and sporadic rains in some parts of cotton belt. In Sindh seed cotton prices were higher by Rs 50 to Rs 3250 and Rs 3400 and in Punjab, phutti prices gained Rs 100 to Rs 3250 and Rs 3400 per 40 kg, respectively, dealers said.

The official spot rate also went up by Rs 150 to Rs 6,600.

According to cotton analyst, Naseem Usman, mills and spinners have no choice just to buy cotton even at higher prices. Hovering fears of further rise in the rates is propelling mills to make forward buying.

Gerbang Teknologi Cikarang (GTC) seeing rise in the number of clients accessing the logistics storage center (PLB) to purchase cotton, from Cikampek located close to the dry port to Bandung some 112 kilometers away has launched its first logistics storage center (PLB) to supply raw material for the local textile industry. Imported cotton has found a new home in the West Java city of Cikarang.

The company said that the new storage center would help local businesses secure cotton in a more affordable way, since most of the commodity for local use was still stored in Malaysia.

The central Thừa Thiên-Huế Province plans to transform itself into a textile and garment hub in the country’s central region for which the province to spend more than VNĐ6.6 trillion (US$295 million) during the 2016-2020 period. A Chinese company has evinced interest in investing Rs600 crore in 35 acres in the textile park at Sitarganj in Udham Singh Nagar in the state. This is likely to help the textile industry of Uttarakhand take a major growth.

According to experts, surplus ground table water in Sitarganj and proximity of US Nagar to neighbouring countries like Nepal and China have attracted industrialists to the textile park. Another advantage is its border with Uttar Pradesh and good transportation facility to other parts of the country.

100% man-made fibre yarns export from India was valued at US$20.76 million in June 2016, up 35.9 per cent YoY while volumes were at 7.82 million kg, up 40.5 per cent as compared to the same month last year. The total volume comprised 2.93 million kg of polyester yarn, 3.81 million kg of viscose yarn and 1.07 million kg of acrylic yarn.

MEG price falls on bearish outlook

Asian MEG prices fell US$10 a ton CFR China and CFR South East Asia in the third week of July. In China, offers for nearby-month goods were pegged stable, and counter offers were steady. Bonded goods and forward-month were US$5 a ton higher over nearby-month goods.

Mono ethylene glycol prices in Asian markets fell on bearish outlook and profit taking. Traders sold H1/H2 August swaps as Futures declined on Huaxicun exchange following a brief respite from falling spot prices.

Paraxylene prices flat to up in Asian markets

Asian paraxylene prices were up US cents 17 a kg in the third week of July and CFR Taiwan/China was unchanged from previous week. Paraxylene prices were flat to marginally up in Asian markets on weak demand.

Downstream PTA plants in China were running at 50-60% while G20 summit in September will curb output further. Isomer-grade mixed xylene prices also fell on the week despite edging up week end on firmer September demand.
