Viscose yarn price inches up amid fair liquidity

In Jiangsu, 30s spun viscose prices in Xiaoshan climbed US cent 1 a kg in the third week of August while 40s compact sirospun yarn prices inched up US cents 2 a kg.

Spun viscose yarn markets were generally soft in China and prices inched up amid fair liquidity. Mainstream discussions for siro‐spun 40s yarn were up with modest liquidity. Offers for ring‐spun yarn 30s also inched up reflecting the marching of VSF prices. However, mills generally met with strong resistance, and thus mostly pushed sales with flat offers.

Australia’s leading cotton planting seed and technology supplier, Cotton Seed Distributors (CSD) announces a $41m redevelopment plan of its Wee Waa processing plant in New South Wales. The site will get nearly 17,000 square metres of new warehouse space and a new laboratory, after receiving approval from Narrabri Shire Council and the JRPP.

The new plant is schedule for construction next January, with the plant to be operational for the 2018 processing season.

Tight supply kept cotton prices slightly high at cotton market

In the process of tight supply position, prices inclined higher marginally at cotton market on Friday, dealers said. According to the market sources, some spinners indulged in panic buying due to short supply position. A kind of forward buying was also witnessed by mills.

The official spot rate remained unchanged at Rs 6,650, dealers said.

In Sindh, seed cotton prices were at Rs 3400-3550 and in Punjab rates of Phutti, were at Rs 3100-3450, per 40 kg. While, in ready business, around 12,000 bales of cotton changed hands between Rs 6725 and Rs 6900, dealers said.
