Asian caprolactum prices fell US$50 a ton SE and FE in the last week of March. In China, spot liquid and solid caprolactum offers were during the week.

Caprolactum markets rebounded mildly on the back of recovering benzene and bargain hunting activities. However, prices were resilient to the firmness in raw material seeing stagnant downstream demand.

Blended yarn market sees mixed price movements

In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices dropped US cents 2 a kg in the last week of March while 45s PC combed yarn prices were up US cents 2 a kg on the week.

Blended yarn prices were seen dropping in Asian markets as fibre prices receded somewhat. In China, PC yarn prices dropped but finer count yarn were slightly up.

Viscose yarn price slips amid descending VSF prices

In China, offers for ring‐spun 30s weaving yarn in Xiaoshan declined US cents 4 a kg in the last week of March, while compact siro‐spun 40s yarn in Jiangsu was down US cents 14 a kg on the week.

Viscose spun yarn prices fell significantly during the week in China as VSF prices descended sharply during the week, amid shrinking liquidity. Rigid demand for yarn may recover somewhat after Tomb‐sweeping Day, but prices may continue to remain weak.
