Polcotton to build textile complex in Uzbekistan investing about 60 mn

Polish based Polcotton Sp z o o internationally trading and production company operating within cotton, textiles and commodity products, acting on European Asian and Far East markets since 1995 and also a member of the Liverpool Cotton Association will be investing about 60 million in the construction of a textile complex in Uzbekistan, reported the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

KVIC to invest Rs5.5 cr in charkhas and looms to boost khadi production

To bring up Khadi production by 7-9 percent by the end of FY18, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Sahyog Program will be making an investment of about Rs5.5 crore to distribute charkhas and looms.

Of the total charkhas distributed, 550 are solar charkhas that cost Rs 80000 each while the 110 solar looms cost Rs 1.2 lakh each. With the initiative, KVIC now has 25 new production units across the country.

Dull trading activity continued at lint market as majority of stakeholders remained on sidelines on back Eid holiday and rains in most parts of the stations. Buyers made deals on slightly higher price besides forward deals for grade selective and second grade of lint also changed hands, fibre traders said.
Market would become active after Eid holidays, and market buying-interest sentiments would push general prices in green zone while weak ginners to get some strength capitalize on their dealings, traders said.

Kerala, especially the Western Ghats region, is gifted with a wide array of plants for manufacturing natural textile dyes. Plant dyes were used for garment dyeing and wall paintings till the advent of synthetic dyes in the 16th century. Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) has identified 12 indigenous plants capable for manufacturing natural textile dyes, this will provide an organic option for dyeing cotton and silk textiles.

At the 49th International Textillegprom which was held from August 29 to September 1, 2017 at Moscow, around ninety five Indian textile companies showcased their products at this global platform.

The Indonesian upstream textile industry has urged the Fiscal Policy Office in Indonesia, Badan Kebijakan Fiskal, or BKF to exempt local raw materials supplied by local manufacturers from VAT.

Currently the Indonesian government only provides tax exemption for imported raw materials to those companies that obtained the so-called "Ease of Import Facility for Export Purposes" (in Indonesian: Fasilitas Kemudahan Impor Tujuan Ekspor, or KITE) on the strict condition that these companies only use these relatively cheap imported raw materials for output that is shipped abroad.

Cotton yarn exports of India plunge by 9.79pc in April-July current FY

Cotton yarn exports of India in the April- July period of the current financial year witnessed decline by 9.79 percent due to slow pick up from the two large destination China and Bangladesh, which comprises around 50 percent of overall shipments from India.

China is the single largest market for Indian cotton yarn, accounting for 31 percent of country’s exports. Therefore, a substantial decline in exports to China has a major impact on overall export performance. Exports to China have declined by a staggering 48.58 percent during the April–July period in 2017.

Nylon yarn prices stable to up despite weak input cost

In China, nylon FDY70D/24F SD and FDY40D prices rolled over in the third week of August. Nylon DTY prices edged up US cent 1 a kg while 30D/10F was up US cents 10 a kg on the week.

Monofilament 30D prices were stable while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices were kept firm during the week.

Nylon filament yarn market in Asia held firm on easing cost pressure, although nylon chip market declined sharply on the week. Fundamentals were moderate on the back of cautious production, modest demand and passable inventory.

Caprolactum prices fall in Asia

In China, spot liquid good offers were down US$138 in the third week of August while solid goods fell US$33 a ton on the week. The SE and FE Asian caprolactum markers were stable on the lower end at US$1,700-1710 a ton.

Fibrant raised August nomination by US$42 from last nomination for liquid goods.
