Kigili, one of the Turkish biggest textile retailers, whose main theme is branding and expanding retail abroad and the first Turkish clothing brand to have opened a store in China is carrying out operations abroad with its 28 stores in countries such as Austria, France, Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Macedonia, Tajikistan, and China. Kigılı CEO Hilal Suerdem talked about the company's operations abroad as well as its future plans said that the company is in a search for local partners in the Indian market.

The Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday was apprised of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Central Silk Board (CSB) of India and the National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS) of Japan for collaborative research in the field of silkworm rearing and silk industries.

As a result of the MoU, Indian textiles and apparel industry would be able to produce world-class silk and silk products. The improvement of quality and productivity would ultimately increase export of silk products.

Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) centres to start purchasing cotton from October 1 for which District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed at the review meeting with the officials of CCI and Marketing department on the purchase of cotton here at the Collectorate on Tuesday instructed the department officials concerned to take necessary steps to open the cotton purchasing centres.

District Joint Collector Badri Srinivas, District Marketing Officer Padmavathi, Cotton Corporation of India senior purchasing officer Ram Nivas and others were present on the occasion.
