Zalando uses RE&UP recycled cotton in its private label collection

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2026-09-08 13:33:28 – Netherlands

RE&UP Recycling Technologies’ Next-Gen Cotton is being used in a new collection from Zalando’s private labels, marking another step toward bringing textile-to-textile recycled fibres into mainstream fashion production.

Launched on Zalando in August, the collection includes five T-shirts from YOURTURN by Zalando and Even&Odd by Zalando. The garments are made from circular knitted fabric containing 80% organic cotton and 20% RE&UP Next-Gen Cotton, a recycled fibre made from textile waste.

This is the first time RE&UP’s recycled fibres have been used in Zalando’s private label collection. The project shows how textile-to-textile recycling can move beyond pilot projects and be used in commercial fashion production.

“Industrial-scale circularity is no longer aspirational but operational,” said Özgür Atsan, Chief Commercial Officer of RE&UP. “Through collaborations like this, brands can move from pilot projects to repeatable, scalable production with confidence.”

Zalando said the project highlights the potential of next-generation materials to meet the quality and commercial requirements of its private label brands.
