UKFT & Textile Livery to host conference on best sustainability practices in textiles

The Textile Livery Group and the non-profit UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT), have teamed up for a one-day conference to showcase best practices on sustainability in the UK textile industry and debate how the sector can develop its capacity and capabilities while remaining competitive. On May 12th, the conference will take place.

UKFT said in a press statement that speakers from UK manufacturers, global brands, and a variety of textile innovators would share their experiences to help businesses and the wider sector promote their own sustainable credentials.

Throughout the day, leaders from the UK textile manufacturing industry will learn about what sustainability means to different businesses and how they have begun to address some of the challenges ahead, with a focus on how the UK textile manufacturing industry can use sustainability to boost its competitiveness.

Rather than fashion brands, retailers, garment makers, or those from outside the UK textile supply chain, delegates should be leaders from UK-based textile manufacturing enterprises, according to the announcement.
