Toronto Raptors- New Uniform
Toronto Raptors launched their city edition uniforms for the 2020-21 NBA season. It was launched as a promotional tweet with the star point guard Fred VanVleet.
Keeping the aesthetic value of the look alike with the black colorway and script lettering across the front, Toronto’s City Edition kits look sleek. The new kits have made their way to the front-line in a collaborative effort between MLSE’s in-house design team and Nike. The newly designed uniforms are made of recycled PET bottles and composed in a combination of Alpha Yarns and recycled polyester. Each kit contains roughly 20 recycled bottles.
Shams Charania stated that The Athletic, VanVleet agreed to the terms of a four-year, $85 million deal to stay within Toronto with Raptors. The new kits are a status quo to show that the sports industry is also opening doors to sustainable practices. The newly designed kits have been designed to not only make a statement but invite many clubs to be a part of the movement.
The team will soon be receiving their kits and will be featured in their next season.
