A new organisation, the Textile Innovation Exchange (TIE), has officially begun operations in Bangladesh with the aim of making innovation a structured, measurable, and repeatable process within the country’s textile and apparel industry.
TIE aims to encourage practical innovation across all stages of textile and ready-made garment operations. The initiative plans to work closely with factories, buyers, brands, trade associations, academic institutions, technology providers, industry experts, and policymakers.=
The Innovation Wing plans to support 50 factories and train around 500 mid- to senior-level professionals. The focus will be on building an innovation-driven mindset through specialised training programmes and hands-on factory-based initiatives.
The Research Wing will work to connect academic research with industry needs by addressing operational challenges through applied research and data-based solutions.
Through the Self-Readiness Index and Recognition Wing, TIE will offer tools that help factories evaluate their readiness in areas such as innovation and compliance. The wing will also recognise factories that achieve strong and measurable results.
