Three textile factories coming up in West Georgia by end of 2016

Three textile factories to come up in Kutaisi and Poti, West Georgia by the end of the year, the factories will import raw material from Turkey to produces clothes which will be exported to Europe, according to the Head of the International Investors Association (IIA), Osman Chalishkan.

The factory to be built in Poti, Georgia’s port city on the Black Sea coast, will involve investment to the tune of USD 3 million and the construction of which will be completed before the parliamentary elections in Georgia on October 8th, 2016. The factory will employ 3,000 people.

As for the factories in Kutaisi, the legislative capital of Georgia, investor companies will rent places for two factories to employ 600 people. According to Chalishkan, one of the companies was founded last week and will be operational in about two months. The second company is now selecting an area for the factory.

The factories will not be launched immediately because the companies need to train employees for the first three months, before beginning production.

International Investors Association (IIA), is an independent, non-governmental organization established in 2009. IIA is one of the largest unions of investors in Georgia whose members present large companiesof different sectors of businesses, including textile industry.

The Association’s main area of activity covers the issues representing its Members’ common interests and being difficult to be solved by the companies with individual efforts.
