Syre, based in Stockholm, is expanding its partnership with Target to increase the use of textile-to-textile recycled polyester in apparel and home products. The expanded agreement builds on the partnership first announced in June last year, when Target became one of Syre’s launch partners.
Under the collaboration, Syre will support Target’s efforts to integrate recycled polyester made from end-of-life textiles into high-volume product categories across its business.
Target explained that the partnership aligns with its broader sourcing and supply chain strategy under its “Target Forward” programme, which focuses on building a more sustainable and inclusive supply chain while using the company’s scale to support environmental and business goals.
Stephanie Grotta, Vice President of Responsible Sourcing and Sustainable Capabilities at Target, said that customers expect innovative materials without compromising on style, quality, or value. She added that scaling textile-to-textile recycled polyester will help strengthen the company’s supply chain while continuing to provide quality products at affordable prices.
