STCH, a technology start-up in the textile sector, is working on a system called “fabric GPT.” This tool is trained on large amounts of data related to textile recipes and production results. It aims to shorten the research and development process by reducing multiple trials and helping achieve the desired fabric more quickly and at a lower cost.
According to the company, it can take a fabric from the idea stage to production in about 45 days. STCH mainly serves brands in the UK and Europe, while production is carried out through partner factories located in India and Bangladesh.
The start-up is positioning itself to take advantage of current global trends. Trade agreements between India and regions like the United Kingdom and Europe, along with changing tariff structures, are helping improve the global competitiveness of India’s textile industry.
The company also secured $5.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round and plans to use this funding to enhance its artificial intelligence capabilities, strengthen research and development, and build stronger collaborations with textile mills and global fashion brands. This will be done through its contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) model.
