Shima Seiki Mfg., Ltd., based in Wakayama, Japan, has announced a new partnership with CLO Virtual Fashion from Seoul, South Korea to combine their technologies for garment design and simulation.
This collaboration brings together Shima Seiki’s APEXFiz 3D design software with CLO’s advanced 3D garment simulation tools. The integration creates a smooth workflow that covers knitwear planning and design, high-quality simulation, animation, and wider digital applications, while also maintaining a strong connection to the manufacturing process.
Earlier, transferring material data from APEXFiz to CLO required manual handling of several layers and individual adjustments. With the upcoming updates, this process will become much simpler. APEXFiz will include a special export feature for CLO, while CLO will offer a one-click import option through the APEXFiz Integration Plugin, making the workflow faster and more efficient.
By reducing the gap between design and production, this partnership allows a smoother transition from digital ideas to actual knitted products. Designers will be able to create detailed and accurate knitwear visuals while also using CLO’s capabilities in animation, virtual environments, and gaming. Importantly, these digital designs can be reliably converted into real products.
