Nilit
NILIT, a nylon provider for apparel, has launched a new version of SENSIL® EcoCare recycled nylon 6,6 completely from U.S. materials at its North American facility in Martinsville, Virginia. The updated “Made in USA” SENSIL EcoCare is offered in a wide range of fibers and yarns for circular knit, warp knit, seamless, and woven applications and complies with the Berry Amendment, USMCA, and CAFTA.
Michelle Lea, NILIT’s vice president of Global Marketing, said that increased utilization of recycled inputs is a critical component of NILIT’s sustainability approach and something that strongly connects with aware customers these days. Additionally, the US customer really values those that are manufactured locally.
Manuel Guerra, general manager of NILIT North America, said that adding the Made in USA recycled nylon 6,6 to their SENSIL EcoCare range of products helps them respond effectively to the many US brands, retailers, and government agencies that prefer locally produced, environmentally responsible fabrics. This newest addition to their SENSIL® portfolio is incredibly relevant for the entire textile and clothing business here in the States, whether for compliance, supply chain management, or sustainability.
Nylon 6,6 from post-industrial recycling is used to make SENSIL EcoCare. In comparison to other recycling processes, NILIT employs a highly efficient recycling technique that utilizes less energy, water, and chemicals and leaves a lower carbon impact. For fine denier, premium nylon fibers and yarns, the NILIT recycling process preserves the qualities of virgin fibers. Clothing created with SENSIL EcoCare is as cozy, useful, and durable as it is environmentally friendly. Made in USA Activewear, intimates, socks, hosiery, ready-to-wear, workwear, light industrial, medical, and military end uses are all excellent applications for SENSIL EcoCare.
