Samsara Eco to support circular nylon adoption

Samsara Eco has now expanded the Nylon Materials Collective, an industry initiative launched last year in partnership with the European Outdoor Group (EOG). The initiative aims to help brands of all sizes adopt circular nylon through shared material volumes, supply chain partnerships, and material due diligence support.

The Australian startup has now brought the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) into the programme, alongside brands such as Burton, Black Diamond Equipment, Red Wing Shoe Company, Big Agnes, and W. L. Gore & Associates. The initiative now also connects with more than 100 brands involved in OIA’s Climate Action Corps and Clean Chemistry & Materials Coalition programmes.

The addition of OIA also increases the initiative’s presence in North America, complementing Samsara Eco’s existing partnership with EOG as brands continue to face growing expectations around chemical transparency, traceability, and responsible recycled-material use.

The announcement follows Samsara Eco’s recent 10-year partnership with athleisure brand LSKD and comes ahead of the EOG Outdoor Impact Summit in Riva del Garda.

While the company’s early research focused on discovering enzymes capable of breaking down plastics, EosEco uses AI-designed enzymes to convert mixed plastics into recycled raw materials, helping move the technology from laboratory development toward large-scale commercial use.
