Renewed interest in sourcing domestically likely to be witnessed at Texworld USA

The seventeenth edition of North America’s largest sourcing event Texworld USA for apparel fabric buyers, research and product development specialist, designers, merchandisers and overseas sourcing professionals to take place from 22-24 July at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center in New York.

With a renewed interest in sourcing domestically, a lot of North American buyers will be pleased with the diverse selection of US mills participating in the summer edition of Texworld.

Texworld USA, strives to provide the full spectrum of sourcing options for apparel fabrics both domestically and internationally, said Kristy Meade, Group Show Director, Messe Frankfurt.

As the US based textile and manufacturing markets continue to grow, more companies are taking advantage of the benefits of sourcing closer to home. Several domestically based mills have chosen to promote their products at Texworld USA.

Some of the exhibiting companies participating are Buhler Quality Yarns, producer of yarns, their latest innovations include Air Jet technology using Lenzing MicroModal and Supima cotton fibres for knit and woven applications.

Design Knits is a knit-to-order mill based in Los Angeles specialising in the development and production of high quality, sheer to heavy weight knits for the designer and contemporary markets. The products to be showcased would include cashmere, cotton, linen, silk, wool, rayon and Lenzing Modal blends, as well as denim inspired knits.

Laguna Fabrics is a supplier of newest domestic knits. Specialising in Lenzing fibres and novelty yarns, the company’s line includes French terry cloth, sweater knits, linen, contemporary basics, thermals, ponte knits and more.

While, Mansfield Textiles is a direct, full capacity mill for all knitted fabrics, made in the US. In business for over 18 years, Mansfield Textiles has recently added several new machines including three new jacquard machines to create new designs and textures for knits, and an open inspection machine for superior quality.

SG Knits would be showcasing a wide array of knits from novelty yarns and stitches. They will also feature new fabrics produced for garment dyeing and athletic performance. In house services include new embellishment techniques, garment production and printing.

Tuscarora Yarns who would be present at the Texworld USA, is the largest domestic manufacturer of specialty yarns in the US. In business since 1899, the company is renowned as a specialty yarn resource in the apparel and textile industry. It will debut a new Granite yarn in black and natural for a unique two colour look in addition to showcasing new novelty blends with cotton surface effects that make bright colours even more vibrant.

Due to favorable tax breaks, reliable utilities, modern ports and airports and dependable skilled labour, after decades of decline, the US has seen an increased investment in domestic textile and manufacturing facilities, particularly in the Southern states.

In 2012, the US textile industry had $54 billion in shipments and employed approximately 233,000 people. In 2013, US show companies in Brazil, Canada, China, Dubai, Great Britain, India, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico and Switzerland, as well as the US, announcing its plans to open or expand textile plants in Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

These factors together with the increase in automation of textile production have created favorable opportunities for sustained growth in the US.

This is a must attend event for professionals in every facet of the industry – ready to be inspired by fabrics, influenced by the latest trends and introduced to a host of reliable, cutting-edge apparel textile companies.
