An exhibition ‘Dhoop Chaon’ was organized by Rehwa in the city by presenting their collections of Maheshwari saris, duppatas and fabric with an aim of reviving and promoting weaving tradition of Maheshwar. Rehwa society, a quarter-century old Not-for -Profit organization started in 1979 , in response to the need to revitalize the weaving industry in Maheshwar. REHWA is a society dedicated to revive and popularize the centuries-old hand weaving tradition of Maheshwar, and also to improving lives of Maheshwar’s handloom weavers by placing income directly into the hands of their women weaver. They have around weavers 250 including women.
