Recycled Regel
In addition to being a GRS certified acrylic fiber, Regel™ fiber, recycled acrylic fiber from Thai Acrylic Fibre Co. (TAF) – Aditya Birla Group, is now bluesign® APPROVED. This is the most recent step in Regel’s long road towards sustainability, certifying that it complies with the safety and environmental standards of the bluesign CRITERIA.
After its flagship gel-dyed acrylic fiber RadianzaTM, Regel is TAF’s second product to get bluesign APPROVED certification. TAF introduced Regel earlier this year. It was created in response to the rising demand for sustainable fashion items from designers, retailers, and consumers worldwide.
Recycling pre-, post-, and in-process waste to create new goods are one of the most popular and widely used techniques to lessen the impact on the environment. Waste buildup and its management are one of the industry’s major sustainability concerns. Regel is a special invention since it was one of the first to successfully commercialize acrylic fiber made from recycled garbage. It is produced using a genuine and personal chemical recycling method that, like warmth, comfort, and brilliant colors in acrylic fiber, is functionally equal to that material.
The firm that created the certification, Bluesign Technologies AG, puts products that are bluesign APPROVED through a rigorous certification procedure. This ensures that the products have been made with the least possible impact on people and the environment.
Thomas Varghese, business head – Textiles – Aditya Birla Group, said that they’re thrilled to have Regel fiber certified as bluesign APPROVED. Since the release of Regel, they have received a number of overwhelmingly positive replies. Regel’s reputation as a sustainable fiber will be further strengthened by this bluesign APPROVED accreditation, which will also reassure their consumers that any fabric created with Regel was produced ethically and with consideration for both the environment and human safety. This accreditation is a component of their bigger sustainability plan, and they will continue to work towards a sustainable future.
